Biochemistry major Tyler Rutherford of Columbia, Helped Rebuild Homes Damaged in Hurricane Sandy

2015 Jul 9

Tyler Rutherford is one of nine Stevenson University students who took a trip to Staten Island New York to help rebuild homes that were damaged and destroyed by hurricane Sandy in 2012. These students are members of the group Mission: I'm Home, an organization focused on rehabilitating damaged homes as an effort to help families return to their home, at Stevenson. During the last week in May, these students worked alongside the Episcopal Sandy Recovery Effort in Staten Island. The Episcopal Sandy Recovery Effort is a relief program that works to help those who suffered losses from hurricane Sandy, as well as rebuild homes across New York and New Jersey. By helping to rehabilitate homes that were devastated by the hurricane, Stevenson students bring hope back to families who will once again be able to return home.

Thank you for your commitment to service, Tyler!
