Blackburn Repeats as CHC Player of the Year, Pozuc, Rosendahl to Second Team - Stevenson University

After leading the league with 23 goals this season, Stevenson women's ice hockey junior Chelsea Blackburn was named the Colonial Hockey Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season announced on Thursday.

Blackburn was also named to the All-Conference First Team while juniors Monica Pozuc and Natalie Rosendahl were named to the All-Conference Second Team. In two seasons in the league, the Mustangs have had a total of eight all-conference selections.

It is also the second first team selection for Blackburn, who ranks fifth in Division III in goals per game and tied for 17th in points per game. She also recorded 30 points this season, with her 23 goals a single season record in program history. Blackburn recorded three hat tricks this year en route to surpassing the program's point record.

Blackburn holds the school record with 88 points, 62 goals, 16 game-winning goals, 14 power-play goals, five short-handed goals and a plus-48 rating. She also ranks fifth with 26 assists. This season, her 30 points ranks second behind her 33 she set a season ago while tying her own mark with six game-winning goals.

This season Blackburn has recorded a point in 14 of the team's 24 games, including a program-record seven points on five goals and two assists in a win over Post. She also recorded four goals in a win over Morrisville St.

It is the first all-conference selections for both Pozuc and Rosendahl after both had career years. Pozuc ranked fifth in the conference with 24 points and second with 16 assists. Her 0.67 assists per game ranks tied for 26th in Division III. She has recorded a point in 14 games this season, including four multi-point games.

Pozuc set a career-high with four points twice this season and dished out a personal-best three assists on two separate occasions. She currently ranks tied for fourth in program history with 53 points while ranking second with 33 assists. Her 20 career goals ranks tied for sixth.

After entering the season with just eight points, Rosendahl ranked tied for second in the league amongst defensemen with 15 points while her 11 assists were tied for the lead. She had four multi-point games, including a career-best three on one goal and two assists in a win over Manhattanville.

Fourth-seeded Stevenson hosts fifth-seeded Johnson & Wales in the Colonial Hockey Conference Quarterfinals on Saturday, February 25 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
