Brent Hiken, a Business Communication major from Pikesville, Md. Selected by Denver Outlaws in Second Round of 2014 Major League Lacrosse Draft

For the first time in the Stevenson lacrosse program's history, a Mustang is drafted into the Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft. Brent Hiken is already a 2013 USILA Honorable Mention All-American, 2013 ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic All-Star Team Member, and 2013 All-Commonwealth Conference First Team Member. This 2014 season, he has earned MVP along with Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week.

Hiken is currently ranked fourth in the nation with a .714 faceoff percentage, winning 200-of-280 currently. In his first season with the Mustangs after transferring from CCBC Essex, Hiken ranked second in school history for his .709 faceoff percentage, fourth with 202 wins and fifth with 133 ground balls. In the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship, he won 60-of-90 faceoffs, which includes 17-of-27 in the title victory.

Hiken joins a Denver team that finished the 2013 MLL regular season undefeated, becoming the first in MLL history and the fourth in North American major professional sports to finish a season undefeated. The Outlaws set 21 team and 10 MLL records in the 2013 season.
