Business Communication major Samantha Perillo from Wilmington, DE Named to MAC Academic All-Conference Team

Earning her second selection in the MAC Academic All-Conference Team, Samantha Perillo, a Business Communication major from Wilmington, DE, was one of the two Mustangs named to the MAC All-Conference Volleyball Team. Perillo and her teammate Kristen Brooks were two of the 10 players named to the second annual MAC Academic All-Conference Team.

To be nominated for Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must be of sophomore status or higher, maintain at least a 3.2 GPA and compete in the season for which they are being honored.

Perillo owns a 3.52 GPA as a Business Communication major. This season, she led the Commonwealth Conference with 782 digs while ranking 12th in Division III with 6.11 digs per set. She earned the following honors this season:

• CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 selection
• AVCA Honorable Mention All-American
• Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year
• Most Valuable Player of the Commonwealth Conference Volleyball Championship
• Named to the All-Tournament team at the Newport News Regional of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.

"These recipients represent the true meaning of a student-athlete," said MAC Executive Director, Ken Andrews. "This is one of the top conference awards we give out each season. It honors our student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the playing field."
