Chelsea Blackburn of Westland, MI, is Named to All-Conference Team.

February 25, 2016: Stevenson University women's hockey player Chelsea Blackburn is one of five players named to an All-Conference Team. The Mustangs were regular season champions, and placed third in the conference with the number of players named to All-Conference teams.

Sophomore Chelsea Blackburn was named Player of the Year in addition to being named to the All-Conference First Team. Senior Tori Emoff was also named to the First Team, while senior teammate Sarah Modzelewski was named to the Second Team. Jessie Capanelli and McKenzie Taggart were recognized as honorable mention team members.

Blackburn led the conference in points and goals with 31 and 17. She also placed second in the conference with 14 assists. Blackburn ranks 15th in Division III with points and goals, and is tied for second in shorthand goals with three. She had eight mullti-point games and achieved her first career hat trick during the season.

Emoff paced second on the team with 13 points, and lead the team's defense with 10 assists. She leads the conference with a plus-23 rating and set a school record with three assists in a single game. Emoff had two power play goals during the season that ties her for first in the league.

After recently earning her second-straight, and fourth overall, Goaltender of the Week honor, Modzelewski was named to the All-Academic Second Team. She leads the league with a .948 save percentage, and a 1.20 goals against average, placing her in 4th and 7th place in Division III. She completed the regular season with a 17-2-1 record, and recorded nine shutouts during the season.

Capanelli totaled 23 points, 12 goals, and 11 assists throughout the season. This puts her in third in the conference for points, and in fourth and fifth for goals and assists. Capanelli had five power play goals during the season, which placed her ninth in Division III.

Taggart lead the conference with 16 assists this season, achieving a assist per game average of 0.67, putting her in 19 place in Division III. She is tied for third in in points with 23, and had seven goals this seaosn. She also ranks third against all conference forwards with a 12-plus rating.
