Devonte Williams from Clinton, MD becomes first student-athlete to qualify and compete at NCAA Championships

After a great freshman season, Devonte Williams qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 200 and 400 meters, marketing the first student-athlete in program history to qualify for nationals. Williams holds the school record in 100, 200, and 400 meters and is ranked 15th in the nation in the 200 and 16th in the nation in the 400. Because of injury, he will only compete in the 200 meters.

At the 2014 MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, he won the 100 and 200 meters, along with earning Rookie of the Year. He also won MAC Rookie of the Year during the indoor season.

On May 22, Williams participated in the 200-meter preliminaries at Ohio Wesleyan in the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He finished the race in 21.95 seconds to finish in 20th place overall.
