Emma Ragon, From Owings Mills, MD, is Named Club President of the Year

2016 Jul 11

Stevenson University student, and '47 House co-president, Emma Ragon, was recognized as the 2015-2016 recipent of the President of the Year Award. She was selcted for her dedication to the marketing, event planning, and public relations club known as '47 House.

Ragon was nominated by her fellow co-president who wrote this:

"In September, when my co-president and I took the lead our club was struggling on campus and had four active members including ourselves. Now our club has about 40 active members, we've held multiple events with over 100 attendees, and held a very successful the 5-day national conference at the Inner Harbor Hyatt in Baltimore. She has played a pivotal role in making sure the transition was smooth while getting other members of the club involved by voting on logo designs and planning the launch party. She was involved in the logistics of getting club members to sign up for the conference, conducting research for brochures, finding transportation, and facilitating jobs and schedules.

Throughout all of those accomplishments listed above she has been the backbone. She has been the caring, relentless, passionate, email-sending spark that has lit the fire beneath our club, which has led it to success. We have had many clubs reach out to us about rebranding, but the reason our club's rebranding effort has been so successful is because of this great president. Throughout this year, she has demonstrated how to be a leader when it is her time to lead, and when to step back to let someone else take the lead. As her Co-President it is hard for me to put into words exactly how much she has done and meant to this club. In my four years at Stevenson, I have played Varsity Baseball, been an Ambassador, and been part of many clubs. However, I have never interacted with a student at Stevenson who has her leadership qualities. You can see the success our group has had over the past year and as her Co-President I am telling you she deserves all of the credit."

Congratulations Emma!
