2013 Nov 8

Congratulations to Jessica Kim, from Cockeysville, MD, who has been selected as a Stevenson University Senior Resident Assistant for the Fall 2013 semester.

Working under the Residence Life Office, Senior Resident Assistants are individuals who show exceptional leadership and professional skills, implementing various programs and activities for residents.

In addition to the standard duties of a Resident Assistant, a Senior Resident Assistant must act as a leader in the following areas:

  • Managing a monthly schedule with the Residence Life staff
  • Assisting the Resident Director with the opening and closing of residence halls
  • Serving as a role model and mentor for Resident Assistants
  • Receiving additional training in leadership, programming, and staff development

"Resident Assistants are some of the most involved students on campus," Resident Director Amanda Merson says. "Stevenson University Resident Assistants are a family, and they care about their fellow staff, residents, and most importantly their school."
