Katlyn White of Manchester, MD helped coordinate Stevenson University's 2013 Relay for Life

2013 Apr 29

Nursing major Katlyn White from Manchester, MD (Manchester Valley High School) helped organize Stevenson University's 2013 Relay for Life Event. This 12-hour overnight event, symbolizing a night in the life of someone fighting cancer, a disease that never sleeps, took place on April 19th in the Owings Mills Gym. The event began at 7pm and continued until April 20th at 7am. The committee began planning the details of this huge event during the Fall Semester and has held frequent meetings to ensure every detail was covered. The committee members assisted with everything from marketing, recruitment, registration, to planning the Luminaria Ceremony and Survivors Dinner. Over 500 Stevenson University community members participated in this year's Relay for Life event and $38,405 was raised to support the American Cancer Society.
