Kelsey Stave of Bear, DE Helps Mustangs Win MAC Commonwealth Championship

2015 Dec 7

Kelsey Stave is one of the Stevenson University women's volleyball players to help bring home their fourth straight MAC Commonwealth title, after beating Messiah 3-1 in the MAC championship game. The Mustangs completed the regular season with a record of 28-7, and are headed to the NCAA Championship following their win against Messiah.

Annika Schwartz lead the team with 32 kills and 17 digs, which lead her to being named Most Valuable Player of the championship game. Schwartz's 32 kills set both the Stevenson and Division III records for highest single-match kills in a four-set match.

Moriah Savage made ten kills, while teammate Kelsey Stave added nine kills. Sara Bollinger totaled 56 assists during the game. Deanna Bradbury racked up 35 digs and Kristen Brooks totaled 25.

Wining the championship game put Stevenson at their 15th straight win this season, and marked their fourth straight MAC Commonwealth title. The Mustangs have captured all four wins since their program start in 2012, and will be making their fifth straight NCAA appearance.

Congratulations Kelsey!
