Monica Pozuc, a Stevenson University Women's Track and Field Team Member from Kent, OH Puts On an Outstanding Performance at Goucher Classic

Monica Pozuc assisted the Stevenson University women's track and field team in a successful performance at Goucher Classic. The Mustangs completed the meet with 37 total points, landing them in sixth place overall.

Freshman Brittany Appleby brought home a first place title, and broke a school record, in the 10,000m run with an impressive time of 42:40.74. Junior Lanie Swanhart came in sixth place in the 400m dash and eighth place in the 1500 finishing with times of 1:05.83 and 5:21.37. Sophomores Claudia Lohr and Niavannia Grant also participated in running events. Lohr set a school record as the only runner in the 300m steeplechase with a time of 13:12.97. Grant completed both the 100m and 200m dash in tenth place, crossing the line at 14.43 and 30.62 seconds.

Sherrie Wallace, Rebecca Moore, and Monica Pozuc showed off their talents in field events during the meet. Wallace and Moore competed in the shot put event finishing in fifth and sixth place with distances of 10.04m and 9.78m. Pozuc threw a discus distance of 24.76m landing her in fourth place.
