Congratulations to Nicole Costabile, from Ellicott City, MD, who has been selected as a Stevenson University Resident Assistant for the Fall 2013 semester.
Working under the Residence Life Office, Resident Assistants make tremendous efforts to build a sense of community and to provide a safe atmosphere on campus.
"Resident Assistants are some of the most involved students on campus," Resident Director Amanda Merson says. "Stevenson University Resident Assistants are a family, and they care about their fellow staff, residents, and most importantly their school."
Some major responsibilities of Resident Assistants include:
- Corresponding with Resident Directors on a regular basis
- Filing incident reports regarding violations of policies and emergency situations
- Assisting with monthly health and safety inspections
- Organizing, promoting, and attending activities and programs on campus
To be a Resident Assistant, students must have a strong academic record and complete three weeks of extensive training in community development and safety.
