Pikesville, Md. resident Brent Hiken's All-American selection helps Mustangs lead the nation with 12 All-Americans

Brent Hiken of Pikesville, Md., was just one of the 12 selections by the USILA All-American Team. This number allowed Stevenson to lead the nation, for the second-straight season, in the number of players named to the All-American Team. Just last year, they had 11 selections. Since 2008, the Stevenson men's lacrosse team has had 58 All-Americans.

First team selections included senior Kyle Holecheck, senior Brent Hiken and sophomore Stephen Banick. Holecheck, a three-time All-American selection, earned his second consecutive first team honoring, leading the team with 49 turnovers. He also had 139 caused turnovers in his career, along with 70 ground balls, ranking fifth in career school history with 231. Hiken, a 2013 All-American Honorable Mention, ranked second in school history with a .720 face-off percentage. He ranks fourth in Division III in face-off percentages with just two seasons. He won 250-of-371 face-offs and created a school record of 174 ground balls. Banick, the 2014 Commonwealth Conference Offensive Player of the Year, earned his second All-American honor, leading the team with 39 goals and 72 points. Impressively, he scored at least one point in all 22 games this season.

One player, Callum Robinson, was named to the second team. He finished second on the team with 36 caused turnovers and third with 74 ground balls. In his just two seasons here, he is already fourth in school history with 71 caused turnovers.

Three midfielders were selected for third team including senior Glen Tompkins, junior Tony Rossi, and sophomore Connor Curro. Tompkins finished third on the team with 60 points. He started in all 22 games, scoring a point in 21 of them. Rossi finished fourth on the team in goals (36), assists (22) and points (58), now having 62 goals, 40 assists, and 102 points in his career. Curro totaled 18 caused turnovers and 57 ground balls, with 41 career caused turnovers and 148 career ground balls.

Five players were selected as Honorable Mentions including senior Chris Dashiell, senior Ryan Rubenstein, junior Billy Burgoyne, junior Colin Dabney, and sophomore Dimitri Pecunes. Dashiell leads the team in assists with 43, finishing second in points with 63 and finishing his career ranking fifth in school history. Rubenstein totaled 15 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls, finishing his career ranking eighth in school history. Burgoyne finished fifth on the team with 35 goals and 40 points. Dabney earned his first All-American honor, tying for the team-lead in goals with 39. Pecunes earned his first All-American honor with a 7.58 goals against average , the fifth best for a single season.
