Samantha Perillo, a Business Communication major from Wilmington, DE, named to Capital One Academic All-District Volleyball Team District 2

Finishing another season strong, Samantha Perillo was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Volleyball Team District 2. This program is part of the Capital One Academic All-America(R) program, as selected by The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

In the 17-year school program history, Perillo is the just the second CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. This selection enables her eligibility for Academic All-America honors.

Perillo, a Business Communication major, appeared in all 33 season matches, playing 114 of the team's 117 sets. She has 675 digs and 5.92 digs per set, leading the Commonwealth Conference. She also leads the team and ranks seventh in the conference with 50 service aces.

Previously, Perillo has been named Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week and ECAC Division III South Libero of the Week.

The Academic All-District(R) teams include student-athletes from eight different geographic districts across the U.S. and Canada. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter/important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA at his/her current institution.
