Sara Tarbert, a Stevenson University Women's Basketball Sophomore, from Delta, PA is Named to the 2015 All-America Team.

2015 Apr 14

Stevenson University sophomore, and women's basketball player, Sara Tarbert was recently named to the 2015 D3Hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team. After being awarded this honor, Sara has been chosen as an Honorable Mention Selection to the 2015 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III Coaches' All-America team. She was also named as an All-Commonwealth Conference First Team player, and is the first-ever women's basketball player at Stevenson to be selected as an All-American. Sara was also the sole player from the Commonwealth Conference to receive the title of All-American this season.

After setting eight single season records at Stevenson, and leading the conference in both scoring, and steals, Sara is a well deserving player to receive this honor. She is only the second player in the program's history of 20 years, to finish the season averaging a double double with 10.5 rebounds, and 18.4 points per game. Throughout the season, Sara achieved 16 double double performances, 10 20-point games, and reached a career-high scoring game of 30 against Albright. She is the first Stevenson player to reach 30 points in a game since 2010, and is the fourth player in the school's history. In addition to ranking first in the conference in steals and scoring, Sara held 12th place in the division with 3.6 steals per game average, and 40th overall in scoring.

Sara was a key aspect in helping the Mustangs achieve 24 wins during the season, win the Commonwealth Conference title, and advance to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Second Round.
