Sara Tarbert of Delta, PA, is Honored after an Outstanding First Half of Season

Stevenson University women's basketball player Sara Tarbert has been named to multiple honors after a successful first half of the season. She was named MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week for two weeks straight, Corvias ECAC South Player of the Week, and to Scoutware D3Hoops.com Team of the Week. Tarbert was honored by the ECAC and D3Hoops.com for the first time this season; however, her two most recent MAC Player of the Week honors mark her second and third this season.

Prior to Tarbert's second MAC Player of the Week selection and D3Hoops.com Team selection, she averaged 30.5 points and 13 rebounds per game in two games. During the game against Virginia Wesleyan Tarbert set the program record of 41 points in a single game, had 15 rebounds, and went 18-25 from the floor. She achieved her sixth double-double this season with 11 rebounds and 20 points in the game against Albright.

In the week leading up to being named to her third MAC Player of the Week honor, Tarbert averaged 24.7 points and 11 rebounds per game. In the win over Lebanon Valley she totaled 28 points and 13 rebounds. She also achieved her eighth double-double of the season versus Arcadia.

Tarbert has started 12 games this season averaging 11.3 rebounds and 22.5 points per game, while also maintaining a 58.4 shooting percentage. She ranks third in the MAC Commonwealth in field goal percentage, and leads the conference in both rebounding and scoring. Tarbert sits in fourth place nationally with her scoring average.
