Sara Tarbert of Owings Mills, Is Recognized for an Incredible Season

February 25, 2016: Stevenson University junior Nursing major and women's basketball player, Sara Tarbert is named to her fifth weekly honor of the season, and named MAC Player of the Year.

Tarbert achieved her fifth MAC Commonwealth player of the week selection this season, after a winning week of 2-0. She averaged 24.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 2.0 blocked shots in the games against Hood and Alvernia.

Prior to her being named MAC Player of the Year, Tarbert played in all 24 games this season, reaching 15 double-doubles and 22 double figure scoring games. She shattered the school record in points per game, earning a high of 41. In addition to her five Player of the Week selections, Tarbert was named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week twice.

Tarbert averaged 21.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game this season, while earning a shooting percentage of 56.4% from the field. She is ranked ninth in the nation in scoring, and leads the MAC Commonwealth in both scoring and rebounding.
