Spring Grove, PA Resident Shelby Walter is Named MAC Defensive Player of the Week

March 21, 2016: Stevenson University senior women's lacrosse player, Shelby Walter was named Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week. She was awarded this honor after leading the Mustangs through a 2-1 win week.

Walter is the first women's lacrosse player to be selected for a weekly honor this season, and is the first non-goalie defensive player to be recognized since 2013. During the Mustang's three games during the week prior to her selection, Walter grabbed 11 ground balls and caused ten turnovers in a total of three games.

Walter is currently ranked fourth in the conference in caused turnovers and ground balls per game, with averages of 2.29 and 3.24.
