Stevenson University Athlete and Catawissa, PA Resident Grier Melick Competes in Orange & Maroon Classic

Grier Melick a Stevenson University track and field team member, competed in the Orange & Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna. He is one of many men's track and field competitors to achieve outstanding achievements during this event.

It was at this event where Brandon Shepherd broke a school record in the triple jump with a jump height of 12.83 meters and placed second overall. After such a great performance, Shepherd now qualifies for the MAC Championships.

Kyle Rudman qualified for the MAC Championship and placed fourth overall in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.87 seconds, and earned his personal best in the long jump with a distance of 5.93 meters.

Dalonte Simpson, Oluwaseun Omolana and David Miles all excelled during the 200 meter dash as well. Simpson finished with a time of 24.80 seconds and took fourteenth place overall. Omolana finished with a time of 24.86 seconds and took fifteenth place overall. Miles ran the dash with a time of 25.57 seconds also placing in the top twenty-five.

Michael Skaro and Grier Melick both finished in the top twenty-five in the 800 meter dash. Skaro had a time of 2:16 and Melick finished with a time of 2:18.

The 4x400 team of Melick, Skaro, Simpson and Rudman finished their event with a time of 3:49.20 and landed in thirteenth place overall.
