Stevenson University Legal Studies Student Lindsay Somuah, From Laurel, MD, Helped to Host the Charm City Classic Invitational Tournament

Lindsay Somuah and the Stevenson University mock trial team, co-hosted the Charm City Classic Invitational Tournament with University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Other institutions including Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland, North Carolina State, American University, Haverford College, Patrick Henry College, Princeton University, Seton Hall, and Washington & Lee University.

The tournament was held at Stevenson, where the teams competed in the Brown School of Business, featuring the Francis X. Pugh Courtroom. The event was officially sanctioned by the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA), which also holds the regional AMTA tournament later this year at the University of Maryland School of Law.

Professor of Law and mock trial team coach, Melanie Snyder, said "This tournament, which brings together talented teams from across the northeast region, provides students with a wonderful opportunity to learn the importance of team camaraderie while improving their critical thinking and public speaking skills,"
