Stevenson University Men's Track and Field Member Grier Melick from Catawissa, PA Put on an Outstanding Performance During Goucher Classic

Grier Melick is one of the many Stevenson University men's track and field members who helped showcase the Mustang's talent during the Goucher Classic, where the team placed third overall with 79 points total.

Travis Kessler came in first for the shot put throw with an excellent distance of 12.97 meters. Nish Patel also brought home a winning title, and broke a school record, with a time of 35:22.10 for the 10,000m run. The 4x100m relay team of Adam Diabagate, Kyle Rudman, David Miles, and Garrett Pegg, also achieved victory as they placed first with an outstanding combined time of 45.13 seconds. A record was set for the 3000m steeplechase by Tom Ferguson with an impressive time of 11:13.74.

Leading the jumping events, Rudman gained a distance of 5.82m during the long jump, claiming third place. Diabagate took third place in the triple jump with an overall distance of 12.00m, while Brandon Shepherd achieved fourth place in both the triple and long jump with distances of 11.77m and 5.59m. During the 200m dash, Rudman and Diabagate had great runs earning times of 23.50 seconds and 23.88 seconds, landing them in fourth and seventh place. Grier Melick completed the 400m dash in 54.64 seconds, achieving his personal best and coming in fourth overall. Pegg competed in the 100m dash finals and earned a time of 11.80 seconds, landing him in seventh place.
