Stevenson University senior Business Administration major, Andrew Clayton is a 2015 winner of the Campus Compact Newman Civic Fellows Award. This award recognizes students from colleges and universities around the country for their involvement on their campus, as well as to their surrounding community. These students are nominated by the president of their institution, and are seen to be inspiring to other students, as well as leave a long lasting impression on the community. Winners of this award will receive a certificate, and be recognized nationally for their achievement. In addition, the student will become a part of a national group alongside the previous honorees, and gain access to unique networking events both online and in-person.

Campus Compact is a group of over 1,000 college presidents who represent more than 6 million students that strive to enrich higher education through community involvement, fostering civic learning and responsibility. The Campus Compact Newman Civic Fellows Award is named after one of Campus Compact's founders, Dr. Frank Newman, who devoted his life to assisting student's learning through civic engagement.

Andrew is a deserved this award for his engagement at Stevenson University, and in the surrounding community, as well as being a dedicated student-leader. He has been highly involved during his time at Stevenson, participating in many clubs and events. Andrew joined Stevenson's Service Corps in 2012, and became the president of the group in 2013 after helping expand the club's outreach. Since being nominated as president, he has facilitated the expansion of their partnerships with non-profit organizations, such as Helping Up Mission, Irvine Nature Center, Maryland Food Bank, Relay for Life, Villa Maria School, Defenders of Animal Rights, and United Way. Andrew helped the club reach new heights this past year, acquiring a total of 136 members, and attending 12 different service events. He constantly encourages collaboration while motivating others to make a difference in the community. Additionally, he has participated in the Alternative Spring Break Trip to Rebuild New Orleans Andrew is also the Director of Philanthropy for the Student Government Association at Stevenson, and was awarded as Outstanding Leader of the Year in 2014.
