With academic efforts from Sykesville resident Randy Vehslage, the Mustangs were honored as a GCAA All-Academic Team for the fifth-straight year

Randy Vehslage from Sykesville, MD was one of the men's golf team members for the 2013-14 season. The men's golf team was honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as an All-Academic Team.

To earn this prestigious honor, the team must have an average of 3.00 or higher GPA during the academic year. The Mustangs were one of only 24 schools out of 293 Division III schools to be selected and were the only team selected from the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC)

Under head coach Chris Ramer, the Mustangs boasted a 3.179 team GPA for the 2013-14 academic year. This is the third highest GPA they have had in the five years that they have been honored by the GCAA. The men's golf team also had the highest team GPA among the men's sports at Stevenson for five of the last eight years.
