Women's Track and Field Team Member Brittany Appleby-Rumon of Hagerstown, MD Put on an Outstanding Performance During the 2015 Outdoor Championships

Stevenson University women's track and field member Brittany Appleby-Rumon put on an excellent performance during the 2015 MAC Outdoor Championships. The Mustangs finished the event with 30 points overall landing them in eighth place.

Junior Lanie Swanhart led the team, taking fourth place in the 800 meter run with a school record breaking time of 2:23.26. Swanhart broke yet another school record, alongside her 4x400 relay team of Seniors Monee Hill, Josephine Adutwum and Freshman Destiny Watts who conquered the event with an impressive time of 4:17.67, coming in sixth place overall. Hill came in sixth place in both the 100 and 200 meter events, crossing the line in 12.72 seconds and with a record breaking time of 26.25 seconds. TeKera Smalley ran the 100 meter dash in 12.81 seconds, achieving her personal best. Freshman Brittany Appleby set a new record for the 5k with a time of 19:25.50, finishing seventh overall, while her teammate Adutwum finished in eighth place. Adutwum reached the podium for the 400 meter event with a dash of 1:01.20.

Freshman Monica Pozuc broke a school record in the discus, throwing a distance of 29.56 meters, finishing in ninth place.
