Zachary Cather, From Finksburg, MD, Makes School History With First Dual-Meet Win

October 17, 2015: Zachary Cather is one of the Stevenson University swimmers to help make school history in first ever dual-meet win. The men's team placed first overall in their dual-meet at home against Wilkes, with a score of 88-55, winning nine out of 11 events.

Freshman Andrew Sears placed first in the 1000 Meter Freestyle with a time of 10:56.10, beating the runner up by one minute and 44 seconds. Sears also claimed first-place in the 200 Yard Individual Medley and 200 Yard Breaststroke, with times of 2:15.53 and 2:29.32.

Freshman Michael Lutz came in first for three events, including the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:43.78. Lutz also placed first in the 100-Yard Freestyle and the 200-Yard Freestyle, with times of 53.73 and 1:59.67.

Sophomore Zachary Cather completed the 200-Yard Butterfly with an impressive time of 2:22.37, coming in 34 seconds before his competitor. Cather also claimed first place in the 200-Yard Backstroke and the 50-Yard Freestyle with impressive times of 2:31.21 and 23.96.
